Detailed Description

The project's headworks played a pivotal role in harnessing the energy potential of the Chaku River. This phase involved the creation of structures and systems that efficiently managed water intake, ensuring a steady flow into the hydroelectric system.

A remarkable feat of engineering, the project included the construction of a 2.8-kilometer tunnel. This tunnel served as the conduit for water to reach the powerhouse, navigating the challenging terrain of Sindhupalchok. The tunnel's design and construction required meticulous planning and continuous oversight to ensure its structural integrity and functionality.

The penstock, a key element of the hydropower infrastructure, was carefully installed to channel water from the tunnel to the powerhouse. This critical component required precision engineering and monitoring to optimize the flow of water and maximize energy generation.

Finally, the powerhouse itself was a technological marvel where the kinetic energy of flowing water was converted into electrical power. The supervision of the powerhouse construction encompassed the installation of turbines, generators, and electrical systems.

Over the course of this four-year project, the diligent supervision by Shivashree Hydropower Ltd. ensured that each component was built to the highest standards of quality and safety. The successful completion of the Upper Chaku Hydropower Project significantly contributed to Nepal's renewable energy capacity, harnessing the power of nature to provide clean and sustainable electricity to the region.
